Joh. Barth & Sohn GmbH from Nuremberg was founded in 1794. The company is the market leader in hop trading and processing in Germany. Joh. Barth & Sohn accounts for a share of 50 percent of the Barth-Haas Group's total turnover of 150 million euros. While the business activities of Joh. Barth & Sohn were originally focused exclusively on hop trading, since the 1960s hop processing has become the company's second main activity.
With the introduction of PAVONE Enterprise Office, the document storage greatly simplified. Meanwhile, a quick access to documents and forms within the customer information is possible, directly from the ERP system without a change of applications. No new search in the external system is required, thus eliminating the access and search from Microsoft Navision. That means low training requirements for the user. Simplifications are made in the representation or holiday event, now through the rolebased access.
A measurement of the processing time has also shown that the processing of forms for each operation is now 25% faster. This includes both, the preparation as well as access to the application. The data will now be centrally archived in only one IBM Lotus Notes database. The most positive effect of this technical implementation for Joh Barth & Sohn was increasing customer satisfaction through faster data access.
